General Ledger Transactions

In our GL interfacing module, (released June 2011),  expense transactions and the accumulated depreciation contra transactions are exported in an interface file.  A template specifies the interface for your accounting package.

Each GL Asset Class will generate one transaction pair (the Expense & its contra) when the interface is created. The transaction amount is calculated as the sum of the expensese for each asset with that GL Asset Class code.

To understand how we adjust for prior period changes, see the Period Expense topic.

The General Ledger Interfacing system uses the Period Expense engine to create the transactions for export.
