Asset Pictures: (v2.03 and later)

Pictures will be displayed in the main asset list on the grouping tab (now called groups/picture.)

The photo/picture must be in one of these formats: jpg, bmp, gif.

The aspect ratio is 4 to 3: Picture width 4: height: 3 - i.e. a typical 1024 by 768 camera photo. Any other picture shape will be streched to this ratio. Size of the photo is not important, but no need to make them more than a 60-100kb in size. Its your disk drive! It will still load them if they are some Mb in size.

Storage: we do not insert the picture in the database directly. This would make the database grow in size, and damage performance. What we do is easy - name the picture [asset code].jpg and store in the folder pictures beneath your data directory. The program automatically searches this directory for the picture and will display this if found.

Example, if your database is stored at c:\mindbow, create the folder c:\mindbow\pictures (As soon as you run version 2.03 or later with any asset database, the folder "pictures" will be created beneath the database folder for you. If you wish to start storing pictures before running v2.03 you can create this folder yourself.

Folder names and file names are not case sensitive.

If an Asset has the code computer01, then store the picture computer01.jpg in the folder.
(or computer01.gif or computer01.bmp.) We only support these three file types.

If you store pictures in multiple formats (i.e. computer01.jpg and computer01.gif, then only one will load, and the porgram will attempt to find these in the order jpg, gif then bmp.

Pictures are external to the database, and not backed up, restored or changed in any fashion by our software.

There is absolutely no action needed within our software to activate this function. If the pictures are there with the appropriate names, they will be displayed.
